I was at the Atlantic City SKATE & SURF EXPO...and Heely's had a bigger section than half the other companies...They even had a booth with their new video playing.

I used to work with this kid at the park...Always good person to have around. He takes more skate breaks than a 400lb man running a marathon...And it's paying off....check that back foot...Style for miles...

I personally am a big fan of shuvit tricks. I can't help it. 270 out, bigspin out, just about anything with a little zing to it will do. So when I saw this, I just had to show some love.

Derek Fukuhara is one of the newest AM's on Shut skateboards. He had a full part in the Filmbot video and you can see various clips of him on the Transworld site.

Taking a new trick to an already pissed on spot, here he is with a front board, front shuv......very nice.

Yourgelite is back on the east coast, and I ran into him down at FDR. He was killing it. This was only one of the frillion amazing tricks he was pulling off. Higher than your head, too. Frontside-lein to tale? I never claimed to be an expert on trick names. When's the last time you hit you face skateboarding? I must say that within the 10-11 years I have been skating, I have hit my head or face about 3 times. But I will tell you what, you remember every damn time. This one will be no different. YOu know what they say, "YOu mess with the bull, you get the horns." Well shit I definitely got the horns on this one. NOw I get the pleasure of walking the streets looking like a FIght CLub member. Do you ever really stop to think for a second that skateboarders are a stronger breed than most? Do you think those football players that make millions of dollars could handle some of the bone-racking slams we take? And we do it for free? Even the most hooked up person in skateboarding doesn't pull the loot these dudes do. We take some of the worst falls ever and get right back up for more. People slip off a curb and break their ankle. It's crazy. Well now I'm scarred for life. ANd you know what, it came from skateboarding, and I couldn't be any happier.............

Certain videos are more inspiring than others. It's just the nature of the beast in the skateboard world. Sometimes you watch a certain part in a certain video and you feel like you can just do anything. Motivation from visual stimulation is what alot of kids use nowadays. I myself, own so many skate videos, I could probably build a house made out of just vhs tapes alone. This video here is my prized posession. If it wasn't for this, I probably wouldn't be skating today. One of the best New Deal videos to date. It boasts talents like Justin Girard, Paul Zitzer, John Montesi, Danny Sargeant, Chris Hall, Ed Templeton and Andy Howell. This is one of the first skate videos I have ever seen and from then on, I just knew. 100% I knew. I paid over $100 for this one lonely copy. I know. I know, $100 is alot to pay for a skate video, but it's not what you think. I rented this video so many times from the local video store, they felt bad and just gave it to me. I still watch it to this day. Homie cams and Half CAbs.....you just couldn't beat it.

Remember these? There was a times when you would just go out and shred everything in you path. There was no driving to a spot and skating for the day. Everywhere you went WAS the spot. RAils became that welcomed addition to the board, before there were heavy amounts of wax. Everyone had that one good double-sided curb in the center of town where you would slide it for miles. I think everyone who grew up skating in the early 90's had a little CAb, Tommy Guerrero, or Danny Sargeant in them. My friends and I used to line up parking blocks and see just how many we could all do. Sliding was and still is one of the best feelings in the world. You feel weightless. The concept of it all is truly amazing. I saw this kids board when I was a skate camp and I swear, my eyes literally lit up. I asked him where he got it from and he told me his dad used to skate. The torch has been passed.
