I’m going to make an assumption here and say that this post is basically for Gonzo and Haveboard. But others should feel free to nerd out as well.
Anyways, I’ve found some interesting things for our favorite browsers. This is a sweet pluggin for Safari 2.0 that color codes the source for any site when you view it in a browser. More Safari shit…close down Safari and launch the Terminal. Enter “defaults write com.apple.Safari IncludeDebugMenu 1” (minus the quotes obviously). Restart Safari and you’ll notice a handy “Debug” menu now to the right of the help menu. Lots of cool features including the ability to have Safari perform as IE, Firefox, and a few versions of Netscape. Handy for designers/developers.
What about Firefox? Type about:config in the address bar and hit return. This will bring up a list of hundreds of options for tweaking Firefox that are not available in the preferences. I don’t really feel like going into detail right now but you can greatly increase the performance of Firefox using many of these options. You can also completely destroy Firefox using many of these options so be careful what you fuck with….do your home work boys and girls.
