Some sort of contest was held somewhere and the results were skaters building weird stuff to skate. It got filmed. If you have 20 min to download the video you can watch it here on the DVS site. I opened it, put it on pause and then got my lunch. When I got back it played real nice. I am psyched on this because some crazy sculpture like stuff got built just for skateboarding. I wish this sort of stuff would happen more often. It’s hella cheaper then building an entire skatepark. For those pushing the rumor of a sculpture park in Fishtown, I hope this gets some idea gears rolling. Maybe we can get a crew to build something simple like a wavy ledge on top of the parking lot down at FDR? I found this link on SkateDaily.
No one is pushing “rumors” we are building shit as we speak. We made all the control cuts, and started digging so we are on our way. We also need more volunteers to help out so if anyone is down to help out let me know.
I like how they don’t make a big deal about who was skating. The skaters are all silhouettes. Deawon’s totally recognizable, though, especially when he does that manny, pole jam, manny. Regardless, they’re presented more as equal parts to a bigger whole.
Dude, between this one and the last one (plus the Lakai video) I’ve decided I fucking hate slo mo in skate videos. Call me crazy, but I just don’t care how tricks look slowed way down set to emo music.
Sorry if the “pushing rumors” was taken the wrong way. I actually heard a variety of things and was hoping this post would shed some light. I was told it was a hush project then told it was not happening… so rumors have been flying. Maybe the video premiere tonight is gonna be a way to get some volunteers? I’m down to see what’s happening and lend a hand.
