Anyone know Nino from South Philly? I’m stoked on Street Dreams. Dyrdek says some good stuff in the interview. Found this on Mumble.

I did not log into anything. Just clicked and it played. Of course I like it cause its about skateboarding and more realistic then the crap we have seen forever. But for the most part, I’m stoked to see an old friend do something big. Go ahead and hate.

I saw the trailer without signing in too. Its cool to see Nino doing his thing but I don’t know if I am backing the messages that it sending about the skateboard community to the general public. Some of scenes that I saw are showing skaters as underachieving / trouble making vandals. Not down for that especially since so many well educated and professional people in this city skate. I would kind of like to see a flick that shows skaters who aren’t also actors (P.Rod, Sheckler, Dyrdeck) almost documentary style about the real life grit of being a regular skateboarder everyday in Philly or anywhere for that matter to what its like for different AMs and Pros or heck even companies who aren’t the “chosen ones” and how they keep doing what they love regardless of sacrifice, circumstance etc. so that they can still do it. Just an idea if anyones interested in working on something let me know.

nothing tops KIDS but would be cool to see something more like kids.. i remember reading a interview or something with the dude who made the movie, he actually got ny street skaters to play the movie, and what you saw was what you got, you know? i dig that
Hate it or love it…we’re ALL probably gonna watch it…Kids is a classic though Nothing will top that. ..>RIP HAROLD>…Street Dreams? yeah. i’m done for it. I don’t see anyone getting nominated for any academy awards through it..but I’m sure Drydek will keep it interesting nonetheless.

Good or bad, making a movie takes a lot of effort. Even if a movie totally sucks a male camel’s dick (yea Wesley Willis!), I still give them props for going thru all of that work to make a movie.
Maybe they can add a fixed gear bike section and then people on here will be hyped. From “shit gear” to “fixed gear” in half a second.
