you know how DC proposed a million dollars to free Love?! why dont they use it to fund for the new philly park?
The world will take a cue from Vancouver. Mayor Street’s in such deep shit right now, he’ll be out of office in no time. Love will be back. So will City Hall.
I’m a skeptic. From years of letdowns when it comes to city planning, I’ll believe this when I see it. I live in SOuth Philly and it takes damn near a year for this stupid city to fill in a fucking pothole. YOu expect me to believe they’re gonna build that shit??? I hope they do. But, Love is already there.
the city isnt building this. franklin’s paine is. skateboarders have control of the project. instead of dissin on it, why not support it. the more places we have to skate the better. franklinspaine.org phillyskatepark.com get on board.
DC should stick to helping with LOVE so we can get it back… we gotta keep pushing. Did you guys hear about go skateboarding day to raise awareness for LOVE? We need a bigger sponsor for the skatepark so we can get real marble and brick mixed in there.
Like Reebok… hmmmm think about that one. Stevie has the largest shoe contract in history? They are dying to fund a park in Philly.
So why not try and get them on board?
does Ki ever not hate on something?
what will it take to get people to take this seriously? creative control? community meetings asking for design ideas? public meetings to talk about conceptual designs? dvs skate more video premiere?
I think alot of people are in a “I’ll believe it when I see it” attitude.
At what point was I hating??? I go out all the time and try to build shit. THe city of Philadelphia could give two shits about skateboarding. Trust me, I’ve been skating a long time. Long enough to know when to believe something and when not to when it pertains to skateboarding. I’m not “hating” on the idea of a park, I’m just saying what most people are thinking. “I’ll believe it when I see it.” I do remember many a night picking up trash and maintaining and fixing the bridge spot when it was around….Half kids that skated there didn’t do a thing to help. Most of the reasons why that place is gone is because of the underage drinking, fighting and tagging. But I was there. So call me a hater if you want to. “Shit ain’t always cookies and milk, and I ain’t Santa Claus!!!”
I want All The Hot Tubes COLD!
I think this is the most comments Jon has ever had to a post.
I want all kind bud shwag
channel that passion and concern into action….make sure that “when you see and believe it” it will be what you want to see! No haters here, this is the city of love
i’m in chicago.
I just hope it doesnt become the ONLY place we are allowed to skate
It won’t, Haveboard. That was made VERY clear at the meeting.
