kNOw graffiti. Remember the time when skateboards had meant something?? I remember looking at my skateboard along time ago and knowing where every little scratch came from. It was also a time where the graphic on your board partially defined who you were. SHit isn’t like that anymore. Not at all. I work in a pro shop and I swear, 90% of the graphics I see on boards nowadays are absolutely shitty. WHo prints this stuff?? It seems like there is no originality at all. Remember the old New Deal Andy Howell graphics?? The old World graphics?? That shit took thought. Boards don’t mean anything anymore. Cut, paste, repeat. I hate it. So grab a paint pen, acrylics, crayon, whatever you can get to make your board different from the rest. Be original. If the board you’re riding is plain, add a little flair to it. Besides, when your board gets taken by one of Philly’s finest, how you gonna know which Kalis board is yours anyway???

  1. whats a pro shop, is this golf or skating?, oh, must be at the X-Games park, god, that place should just fucking burn down already. Get back out on the streets kids, learn to ride, and dont give them your $$$. Remember when skating was anti-jock?

  2. XGaymes DOES in fact, suck. They really really suck. You wanna hear something even more fucked up about that place???? They give $45 skate lessons at the park. THat’s not the bad part. The bad part is that I have to give them and they don’t give me one fucking dime of that money. THey make a 100% profit off of my manual skills. It’s total bullshit. They told me it’s not the policy to pay the skater anything extra. That’s fucked up because that’s a talent I worked hard for and they pay me the same as everyone else there. Fuck that!!!! I told them I’m not going to let them whore me like that. They get no kickflips until I get some kickbacks!!!! If they were a mom and pop organization that actually gave a shit about skateboarding, I would do it. BUT THEIR NOT!! So fuck them. I’ve worked there for a few months and I’ve also noticed they don’t maintain that place for shit. Not one bit. Ramps are delapidated, cracked, screws sticking out. It’s crazy. That place is a multi million dollar corporation and they can’t pay someone to operate a fucking screwdriver. They seem to be more concerned if the place is painted fancy colors rather than being able to ride there. If I didn’t need to pay rent I wouldn’t work there. But sometimes you have to work for the man, to learn how to beat them.

  3. yeah ive noticed all that, ive also noticed how many kids are banned from that park. maybe someday poeple will just stop going there all together

  4. Shit, you don’t see me there. Nobody’s banned from FDR! Well, a couple people are, but they’re utter fuckheads.

  5. Its not really close to town either. I guess it depends on which town, but you know what I mean.

  6. No way, X games sucks? I knew that when we were building it. Two weeks of sweating our asses of in a Baltimore warehouse because of union bullshit. Its crap, unless you like big vert ramps. Good skate terrain is not the idea, its in a mall get it? The park we built in Golden CO is better but we had more time. Being on the crew for these cookie cutter parks was supposed to give me a free pass forever but apperently not, crap heads. Good thing is I don’t even want to skate them. You can build something better in your livingroom or in front of your crib. 517 keep it real. Renegade or DiE! PS. I know the xgame parks don’t make money so don’t expect them to be around for much longer.

  7. I went to the one in Texas and that one was amazing. It was seriously the best skateparks I have ever been to in my life. It’s literally 3 times the size of the Philly one. It has everything you could ever want to skate. Funny how the Philly one is the most ghetto.

  8. paint markers, spray paint, sharpies, i love it all. shoe dye works pretty good too. toy machine, rasa libre, real, anti hero, krooked, and the smaller local companies are the few boards that i see that i actually enjoy these days. unfortunately this cookie cutter shit has infected the skateboard market… of course it would. but damn… i always keep a paint marker laying around at the shop for any kid who wants to switch things up a little.

  9. its true that most skate graphics suck but todays kids want a “brand” not a cool graphic. “does it say bam or have a girl logo?” run it. little bastards are fucked from birth. just got off the phone with anthony correa talking about his first traffic board! im tryin for the heads that still want skateboards to look cool.

  10. I’m sure Anthony’s board is gonna be dope. SPeaking of Anthony, I was just runnin’ the old Zoo Mixtape video at the park. I won’t play any of the new shit. I always play the older stuff. These kids gotta learn….They gotta learn….

  11. I’m 31 with a wife and 5 year old. I always told myself I’d skate more tranny when I got a little older. It’s worked out that way too. But when xgames does close (and I’m sure it will as soon as their lease is up) it will mean long hard winters with a lot less skating. Vans (even further away) will close soon too. I’ll skate no matter what. But what the fuck. All private skateparks are doomed to fail and suck for the same reasons. But if you can’t appreciate having a place to get you through the winter months you haven’t been skating long enough. The skatepark boon is a recent phenomena that alot of people take for granted. Xgames, 360, and Title 10 are/were parks that you should stop bitching about and be glad you ever got a chance to skate them in the first place. Xgames, and a lot of other infinitely better parks (Vans in Potomac Mills closed), will one day be gone and you will still have the city shitting on you to contend with. You never know, one day they may even take back the much talked about but yet to be built Schukylle River park. Do you put it past them to make it “unskateable” once skateboarding hits a dryspell again? Count your blessings, thank those who advocate on your behalf, and skate at the private park or don’t. Just be glad you even have a choice.

  12. I always called it Tittie 10. Not many indoor parks could flow like the Tittie. That was probably the best indoor spot I ever went to, except maybe Southside in Houston, or the TF.

  13. element is one of the culprits here, Johnny Schillereff should be slapped for the crap ass graphics he allows to go out, atlanta bs art school should ask for the diploma back, 4 sure 4 sure

  14. nice page boardhavers yeah finney yea dr. sinister yeah Ki keepin it realer see u on the fourth at the family reunion homies
