go hate day?

  1. Why is there so much hating going on about this day. Of course it’s a fucking marketing scheme, Emerica is a shoe company, that makes money of people liking there riders and their shoes, usually the first. Why is that bad? They are making something rad for your city for everyone to skate around and yet people still are sitting around bitching like it’s something terribly corporate. Emerica started off small, it’s not some spawn of McDonalds. Stop hating so much, get out and skate with your friends you probably only see when events like this happen. Remember the contest at Love back in the 90’s, when people didn’t hate so much on skating.

  2. I’m all about Wild in the STreets, but I don’t need somebody to tell me to skate. I’ll skate regardless. Skate for life!

  3. Just because I am looking beyond the obvious excitement of skating in a large group comprised of people from all levels of talent and notoriety, and just because I know it that it is clearly an endeavor to sell shoes, does not mean that I am a “Hater”. In the early nineties I was skating in Cleveland. In the mid-nineties I lived down the street from duane pitre, and in the late nineties I helped turn an empty barn into a monster that still scares people. I love skateboarding, I like the business you put down at the bridge, and I won’t be skating on skateboard day until sunset. My delay will not be caused by hate, but by responsibilty to my job and family. What do I think of wild in the streets? Given that its taking place during the day, during the week, after the last days of local schools I’d say that it is clearly a marketing effort designed to reach a specific target, males 14-21, in an effort to sell shoes. Its a good idea, it beats a trujillo commercial on MTV, its gets people off their couches. I wear e brand shoes now, I like the company and their brands. If it was on a saturday or a sunday I’d be at nocturnal at 6am. PS jorge takes no orders!

  4. Yeah, I’m a hater…. You are all going to look like those faggot rollerbladers that roll in a group down Walnut Street. Be sure to use designated crossing guards, faggots.

  5. It will be a sight to behold won’t it? Everyone should wear full pads, including helmets with mirrors.

  6. i like to idea. it’s good to get the community together once in a while. just not sure if i like the marketing aspect. maybe if a skate mag was sponsoring it i’d dig it more. but what do i know, i’m a bitter old man that has to work that day. so bahhhh!

  7. E to the S? Raspberry flavored caffienated beer shoes for young men on the all carb diet.

  8. quit hating. i love it when everyone’s sitting on their asses complaining about how nothing gets done in the city or how the city is beat and shit. yet when people put some effort into doing something positive like organizing a big session to put some flavor back into the city, everyone still bitches. i guess u can’t please everyone but it’s just shitty how people bitch over an attempt at doing something good for the city…

  9. 1.taking the train to philly on tuesday:$3.00 2.chillin with my homies at mcdonalds before goin to the shop :$5.00 3.having to put up with the non-sholaunt onlookers, little prozak infested tony hawk underground playing kids and the ever so popular greed dwelling money hungry marketing scheme associates from emerica just so i can skate and enjoy my tuesday off and hit that new bank built underneath the bridge:PRICELESS

  10. I think it would have been better to do it on a Sunday. During the week the only attention skateboarding is going to get will be negative.

  11. who gives a shit if the attention skateboarding gets is negative, i dont skate to make other people happy, you shouldnt either, what ever happened to the skateboarding attitude? seek and destroy, skateboarding isnt supposed to be liked by the masses, or be in the mainstream, thats not where it came from, and i think we should try to keep it from going there. Even though the money whores have already taken it there, to an extent. Its about barging the scene, and Philly is going to get barged on Tuesday, to the dislike of the majority, its going to create traffic backup, suit and tie guys are going to run for their offices, scared of being run over, I cant wait to see how the cops react. its going to be beautiful. Thats how skateboarding is meant to be. Not organized, Not accepted, i dont care if i get kicked out of a spot, i just move on to the next spot, then go back a few minutes later. I hope the attention that skateboarding gets on tuesay is negative, because skateboarding isnt for anyone other than the skaters, point blank, word up, I think Tommy is right, this is a pure marketing scheme to appeal to the teenage market to sell shoes. Just make sure you have the proper costume on that day, or else. And dont forget to try and one up everyone you see. We skate everyday regardless. Whats going to be PRICELESS is the chaos that is going to be bestowed upon this great city. Lets have some fun and skate the fuck out of these streets, and lets not worry if non skaters are down with what we do. Its not X-Games or some spectator sport.

  12. Cheers to Mr. Broom for sweeping 10 tons of crud from the bridge spot last night. Cheers to the michigainers and to the unnamed child from the catholic grade school as well. Both helped out well beyond what they owed. there is not one among us who should feel exempt from buying EDward a beer.

  13. “WILD, WILD, WILD IN THE STREETS RUNNIN RUNNIN WILD IN THE STREETS RUNNIN RUNNIN” -the Circle Jerks, as heard in the skateboarding classic THRASHIN’, when the Daggers were fucking up the streets. whos up for a joust in the ditch?

  14. If you fuckers fuck up my commute home from work today I will break your arms just like Corey from Thrashin’. Then you won’t be able to compete in the downhill, which will fuck up your chances of riding for Smash Skates. Except you, Dr. S, you fucking rule.
