I adopted a really sweet, and beautiful dog on Sunday. Her name is Stella, and on Sunday night Stella squirmed out of her collar and bolted. Yesterday was trife for me, as I adopted (and lost) a dog in the same day. All day Monday was spent making calls to different authorities, emailing, and posting images on the internet. I even took a trip to PACCA’s shelter in north philly…i never want to go there ever again…that shit is horrible. I felt so guilty.
I left work yesterday at about four PM totally intent on bombing south philly with 500 flyers – every pole on every block. While I was on my way to deliver a flyer to a friend’s store I got a phone call. This girl Janet Lee had read a post I made on craigslist, and asked if she could help me. I mailed her a PDF of the flyer I made, and she had printed that flyer out. On her way home from work, while stapling a flyer to a pole on Juniper and Passyunk (in south philly) a homless man named “AL B.” approached Janet with a dog on a makeshift string leash. It was stella. That was when Janet called me, and I redirected to south philly.
Stella is in good shape, aside from a cut on her foot…she was super exhausted from partying all night long so when I got her home she passed out super fast. Needless to say, I’m stoked that she’s back.
The story is too long to post — but if you live in south philly please keep your eyes open for a black lab — no collar — answers to “stella”…i’m sure you’ll hear me yelling for her tonight when i get out of work…any help is greatly appreciated
man. i hope u find yer dog.
dude, hope Stella comes home soon – let us know
Aw, that’s sad. I wish I could help, but I don’t think she’s in Chester County.
i’m stoked.
great news! glad you found her.
This is why when I saw you on Sunday night I asked who was foolish enough to entrust you with life. Naa just kidding, it happens. Glad to hear your pooch is back in action.
woof
Gotta love happy endings.
Some people make some real dickhead comments around here!
She’s a little escape artist, which probably explains why she was at the shelter in the first place.
I heard you the other night yelling “Stella” I felt bad for you- now I’m happy for you! Cool!!
If you can find Al B, you might want to give him a reward. I believe you would have had to pay a new adoption fee if she had been picked up by a shelter. I’m not sure but it seems fitting to give him something.
that’s a cool story. glad you got your dog back. from the animals ive seen who were adopted from pacca, it seems like a pretty desolate place …
