Just got back from the doctor and he has ordered up a bone scan. This requires that I be injected with some radioactive stuff so when they scan the bone they can tell whether I have a stress fracture or not. If I do, I’ll be needing a cast for 6 weeks following the surgery. If no fracture, they are going to do the surgery with a scope and I’ll just have two small holes that will need to be stitched up and rehab can start much sooner. I go back next Thursday to find out for sure, and when I can get this scheduled. I’m very anxious to get this over with. I’m sorta hoping for a cast, as that would be the only way to insure that I don’t try and use the ankle sooner than I should. I can’t believe this injury initially started a year ago, come June 15th. I can’t wait to be back on a board.
Sorry this is such a blurry shot
good news and bad news, i’m hoping for the good news. get better soon, jackass!
im getting one of those tomorrow! i might have a stress fracture in my back. funny thing is, my initial injury was almost a year ago too. skateboarding is more stressful than i thought, i guess. good luck with yours dude.
After reading this, my rolled ankle doesn’t sound so bad afterall.
injuries are wack.
Bone scans are cool. I had one on my wrist last year when it got fucked up. They had a computer monitor right in front of me and you can see all the little radioactive dots moving around through your blood, pretty cool shit. Anyways, hope everything works out for you.
