  1. The “don’t do it” campaign is nothing new, been around for quite some time. Hey Matt, the last few times I saw you you were rockin Nikes. So what’s up on the hypocrisy tip?

  2. I am so tired of reading about this whole “DON’T DO It” campaign…I really am. Big business is big business and they are naturally gonna try to capitalize on as many things as possible. That’s what makes them big business. You don’t like it? Don’t buy into it. Everyone on this page here has had at least one or two pairs of Nikes in their lifetime. Hell, I just bought a fresh pair to skate in two days ago. I wear what I like. I don’t care about whose backing it, or fronting it. The friggin KKK could be behind my nice kicks for all I know. I just like what I like. People are so quick to point their finger at the next man and say, “Hey man, you’re a sellout!” Well, I don’t see Nike knocking on your door. The same people who post about hating Nike would be riding for them in a minute if they could. People are as loyal as their options. So step off your soap boxes, but don’t scuff the swoosh on the way down.

  3. i’m sick and tired of skating being so fuckin homogenized and pastureized. every video part is the same — a different clip of some dude throwing himself down some 40 stair handrail. i’m also sick of seeing the same pair of sneakers in a bunch of different colors. and i’m really sick of that paying retarded amounts of money for that same pair of kicks. i would never get a sponsor just to be sponsored. i could give a shit about sponsored skating or that bullshit. i just want to cruise. bring back the grime.

  4. Nike is a touchy subject with skateboarders. This is a blog, and the comments are an open forum for opinion, kappy. And, shoes are NOT shoes, In way more ways than one.

  5. Do I think it’s stupid to see 50 different colors of the same shoes on people’s feet? Yes. But it could be worse. They could ALL be the same color. I love skateboarding just as much as the next guy, maybe even more. It’s been my life since I was 13. But when it comes down to being sponsored, it’s a business. Sometimes you get put into positions that are more than compromising. If you are an aging pro or a struggling am, a Nike contract doesn’t seem so bad. Call me a sellout if you will, but the next time I break a bone (hopefully there won’t be a next time) I will have some of that Nike money to cover my medical bills. Oh, and Gonzo, we’re about the same shoe size….What dumpster did you throw those kicks in??

  6. OKay, I tried to post a corny picture and it didn’t work. But I totally blame Haveboard for not telling me that it wouldn’t work. God, I’ll never hear the end of this. Let the hating begin as I hang my head in shame.

  7. Crooks Nation is the only reason I support NIKE. Permanent Vacation, Crooked Arm ain’t no P-Rod.

  8. I could care less what brand is stamped on the shoe. I bought it because its a good product. Yea Nike is a multi billion dollar global empire. So what. They got that way by doing what they do best…making quality products. Yea it is ridiculous to pay a lot of money for sneakers (dunks), but don’t blame Nike for that, they still cost a shop $35 to buy a pair. Blame the shop or the asshole your buying them from for the $150+ markup. Hate’m or love’m but Nike is going no where. And Consolidated’s little “Don’t do it” campaign isn’t going to make them lose a dime. Yea some grimey old head might not buy those Nikes cause of the “campaign”, but there are thousands of people waiting to buy them right behind him. Oh and Gonzo you can rock the Nike’s, I was just giving you a hard time. I know you like them…don’t front. Vans and Ipaths are cool though if you really do choose to go that route.

  9. (tips his hat to dfiant) I was gonna comment but dfiant stole my fya!!! So all I’m gonna day is……JUST DO YOU!
