I’m still on the fence on how I feel about rob & big as I’m not that big of a television watcher. I typically watch DVDs or netcasts/podcasts. The first podcast of this show was free, but is now two dollars if you you want to DL it. You could watch it on ifilm if you can handle their flash player and commercials. I’m not into that. Let me here what you guys think, because I really don’t like watcing the flash movies of these online and I only saw a few episodes when I was home for the holidays so I’m still trying to find out if it’s worth it.
What is going on in that screen grab? Hate to sound like an old dude… but mtv is pretty lame for anyone over 16 any more.
I tried to get into it but I just can’t. I guess i am more into shows like “how it’s made” and “myth busters” and “dirty jobs”…. yeah discovery channel(sic) is where it’s at if you are going to watch stuff on the idiot box.

oh, you mean the DC super product placement half hour!? that little white guy is friends with the big black guy! amazing. i saw some skating in the first one which would be cool if it were someone besides dyrdek. i never thought they would give a show to a dumber, more boring skateboarder than bam but here you go.
I guess I’ll be the one guy who actually likes it. Sure it is super silly, and stupid and less than real, but it’s kind of funny. Rob skates in every episode and kind of shows what street skating is about to a certian degree. I watch it at work through ifilm so that might have somethign to do with why I like it.
So who’s next with a super hit show? Where is Simon Woodstock theese days, he sure missed his glory moment$.
The screenshot is Dyrdek and his dog inside a hanging chair that couldn’t hold the weight, then Big pulls his pants down and sits on it so Dyrdek can get a nice view of Black’s Black Hole. I believe this is also where Black goes on to describe what a Manpon is.

okay so I have a really good skateboarding/ reality TV idea…. Ed and Deanna Templeton, what ever just have cameras follow them around. They could do art, skate and get naked and then Ed could take pictures.
When I’m both bored and stoned out of my mind I find the show moderately amusing. There is definitely a lot of product promotion and Dyrdek acting like a dumb homie. I doubt it’ll see a second season.
Stereo Sound Agency had a show planned. But it got beat out by Rob & Big. Just imagine Renaud on MTV. I’d watch the show for sure. Check out a clip here.

why is everyone hating so hard on this show? all this talk about what skating is and is not about seams a little bit snobish. yeah MTV basically sucks and yeah reality tv sucks, but the bottom line is there’s a lot of funny stuff (as slapstick and set up as it may be) + skating on this show. to me that’s a damn good thing to see on tv.
For the next few weeks I want everyone to be prepared for people on here bitching about how the show is not funny, they hate MTV, or how Rob Dyrdek sucks…The whole nine. Typical shit. I rest my case. Yeah, Dyrdek sucks….His show sucks. MTV sucks…This sucks…That sucks. Dogs….they suck too. Everything sucks. Skateboarding? Yeah that sucks a little too. I love it. I swear, if hating was a crime, some of you on here would be arrested.

I agree, the homo-undertones are a bit creepy. Black tells dyrdek in the first episode that if they were in jail, Dyrdek would be on blacks ‘radar’.
I refuse to pay 1.99 an episode, I refuse to watch it via flash player on iFilm, and I don’t have cable.
I don’t hate the show, I just hate that I have to pay for a quicktime file, even though they baited me with the first episode being free.
Really, if anyone wants to pay me to quit my job and follow my life around for a while, all while I get to do whatever I want, and get paid, sign me up. Call me a sell out. There is too much money in skateboarding nowadays to watch grass roots shops closing left and right while I sit back and hate on everything and every one getting a piece of the pie.
I’m trying to stay positive in 07, and hate does nothing but bring you down.

For the record I am and have always been VERY against the dressing up of pets and would never dress up my own dog. However, that is strongly contradicted by how hillarious I think that dog looks with those sunglasses.
Supposedly the show got sigened up for three more seasons even thought the seasons on MTV are shorter that average…obvious DC is cashing in on this and the producers are scrambling to come up with skits, scripts and case scenarios for Rob and Big…Big Black is prob in the works of a shoe on DC as well…don’t make me say I told you so…and it will sell well…Double B’s…as for the episodes Comcast On-Demand offers all of them as well as outtakes and tricktips by Dyrdek in his backyard park…holla

hey, dyrdek skated to rakim in his DC part…so he can do no wrong in my book….when it comes to big black getting his own shoe, no one should be surprised on that. i mean, look at dvs giving ryan dunn a shoe! big black has probably had more skate footage than that guy. dc is using that extra money they are gonna make off the show to put more diamonds on their team pinky rings this year…..oh, and i don’t know if you ever watch king of queens, but the big white guy on their was rocking a dc shirt a few times…..cha…ching! dc should stand for “dat cheddah”….
The way I see it is anything that promotes skating or skaters to a wide range of non-skaters (ie. the ones passing the bills to skateproof everything) is a good thing in my book. yea, its on MTV and yea MTV sucks. but at least for 30 mins a week it is somewhat bearable. If this show makes even one person that was aginst skateboarding change their views then I am all for it.
