Skateboardin’ ain’t a sport, son! This is just as much of a bastardized version of skateboarding as the Olympics would be. Did you see the “rules”? Jesus shoe-shining Christ! “No hands on board. No hands on the ground, before or after trick.” So are streetplants barred? What about a layback slide? Is that trick taboo? What about any fuckin’ grab trick? Is there a referee and a scoreboard, too? Will Gatorade sponsor the event? This game of skate takes away everything that’s cool about skateboarding. I’ll be out skating on my own terms, breaking their “rules.”

Good one Doc! I’m all for games of S.K.A.T.E. for fun OR for a little competition. Why not break your own rules and actually learning some real flatground tricks and maybe you’d see the fun in it. No hands or feet down was a game of s.k.a.t.e. rule well before Es started making it an actual contest.

A couple friends introduced me to a game called Nonsense. You take turns making a new trick you’ve never tried or seen before. It’s a great way to be spontaneous and to learn something new.
