From Nick Orso: For the past few months I have been helping to organize a place to skate in the New Kensington section of Philadelphia. Please see the attached flyer for information about the project. We have the green light from the Parks & Rec. Department and will be working Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of this week with volunteer labor to get this started.
Please review the following list of services, tools, and materials and let me know if you have access and want to donate any to the cause. If you have anything you want to donate or let us borrow (we will have a locked on-site storage box) please give me a call to coordinate.
We will also need volunteers to work on these same days so let me know if you can make it there a day or two, it would be greatly appreciated and I will personally buy you some beers afterwards. Even if you can’t make it, please pass this along and spread the word, you know how all that works.

EDIT: Link to spot.
Yeah, awesome. Finally something that the street skaters can get hands on involved in. Great work FPSF, Nick, Brad and all those Exit guys!
Yeah but I still haven’t heard shit from volunteers. Where are you internet folk? Jesse will be at the site tomorrow at 9am. Get there!
I have gotten a couple emails from volunteers, and that’s awesome, and if anyone has any free time the next couple days just meet at the site or at exit and we will point you in the right direction!
Is that an afro bank? wish i could help!
I have a portable MIG Welder (115v 20A power) with a 100ft extension cord for on site welding and can donate a day of my time to weld up some obstacles some weekend or night (I work during the day). Who do I need to talk to? Fishtown in the house!
where is the site located?
MDJ180: Hit me up about the welder – SICK!
I see inside hips!
showed up to help out, no one was there.
The site is Pop’s Playground. Trenton Ave and Cumberland. It’s around the Frankford and Leigh Area.
Is it going to be an all day affair the next couple days, and if so ill def come after work?
Milla doesn’t even know his own backyard – it’s Huntingdon and Trenton. Sorry I’m not fancy enough to make this a small link: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=E+Huntingdon+St+%26+Trenton+Ave,+Philadelphia,+PA+19125&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=35.410182,79.101563&ie=UTF8&ll=39.984437,-75.122709&spn=0.008369,0.019312&t=h&z=16 People get there NOW, even if it’s only for an hour, we need help moving all the materials inside the gate before they get Kensington’d.
Link didn’t work anyway, fuck it. Google it yo’self.
Working today until 5 orso. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 9am – 5pm. Corner of Trenton Ave. and Huntington St. Bring whatever you can to help. Even if it’s only for an hour, come by and do something, please!
Too bad I’m leaving for vacation tonight. If you’re still working after Sept 2nd I’m down to help when I get back.
Surprised to see so many comments and support, yet no comments from Ki. Oh wait, I just re-read the post. It’s a call to action. And it isn’t a few blocks from his house so it is CLEARLY a bad project.
CALLING ALL CARS! I will be on site at 9am sharp tomorrow (FRIDAY) so please come and help! Starting to lay block and need to chip out some more asphalt for the footings. I am alone so far so please wake your ass up and come out! I will also be there Saturday from 10am – 3pm. Sunday same. WE NEED HELP!
Hey, I’m in total support of the park. But due to a hurt shoulder, which put me in the hospital, I am unable to help build. I have no probs tossing a few bucks to the cause..Last time I checked, you can’t do much with your arm in a sling. So stop talking shit. Or step to me like a man and knuckle up…Otherwise, leave that kiddie shit for the sandbox.
