Philadelphia Hands Free Law applies to skateboarding

Philadelphia’s cell phone ban while driving also applies to skateboarding.

Handheld use is also outlawed for skateboarders, bicyclists, in-line skaters and scooter riders.

Nutter is expected to sign it and it would go into affect immediately.

  1. I don’t know about you, but unless I’m riding a cruiser, I can’t hear shit when I’m skating down the street and trying to talk on the phone.

  3. I think that americans need a law to protect them against every single conceivably possibly dangerous or semi-dangerous thing that they might ever do even for one split second by accident.

  4. “I wonder if you could get a DUI for skating wasted. That would be awesome!” in any state in which the dui on bike apply it’s applies on skateboard

  5. Wait, if skating is illegal in Philly, why bother making a law about doing something illegal while doing something illegal? I for one am sick of almost getting killed by drivers on the phone.

  6. I thought it was funny when Dave Reul skated that pool while talking on the phone. Other than that, cell phones can go to Jolly Pirate Donuts and take a two-hour shit for all I care. Props to Danny the Tourettes Guy.

  7. If I can’t text-n-scoot I’ll just die. I gotta message my boy Dink-Dink on my way to get Skittles.
