Nike Debacle Video
There is another really sick video available for download, this time from Nike SB. It is very well produced, but I’m not really feeling the staged intros trying to make everyone seem like bad asses, breaking shit. When they blur out faces of people in other parts but show the dude’s face who is freaking out about them skating the bench is a dead giveaway. And then the skater smashes the guys window? C’mon! It’s no wonder skateboarding has a bad image in the general public’s eye.

Years of crazy antics in skate videos has Nike wanting a part of it, even if they have to fake it. Pathetic. That said, the skating was amazing.

Nike always has been, and always will be lame at heart. I don’t care how much they hook up real shops. Their heart isn’t in it; they’re only doing it to garner respect from skaters, from whom they have for so long wanted. If any “athletic” shoe company should get into the skateboard biz, it’s New Balance, because, unlike Nike, they practice ethical business standards. And their shoes are vegan.

The skits sucked! Way to ruin a perfectly good skate video. But I’ll stand up for the skate shoes. If you want your feet to be happy, nothing else compares. I agree about all that corporate shit but if they’re putting out a quality product that works better than almost anything else out there, I’ll wear it.
